Cloudfish
CLOUDFISH was originally formed in the summer of 2002 by Steve Norman of SPANDAU BALLET fame and Ibiza based musician/producer Rafa Peletey as a two piece production/song writing team. Having met Steve whilst doing backing vocals for Hadley Norman & Keeble, he and Rafa invited Shelley Preston, formerly of BUCKS FIZZ to join their song writing team and to provide the vocals for the recording of the tracks.
Rafa decided to leave the band to pursue other musical avenues. CLOUDFISH then became the band that it is today. The song writing team of Shelley and Steve who have collaborated with other writers and producers to record chilled, funky lounge and funky house music with lots of haunting harmonies and melodic sax over blissed out grooves.
Steve, now based in the UK, and Shelley have got together with various writers to produce a number of original tracks including ‘SO HIGH’ (currently receiving airplay in Australia and featured on the latest ‘DOME IBIZA’ CD compilation) and ‘MY SPACE (received airplay in the UK).
Together with their live band they perform a mixture of self-penned songs (“Chilled pop electronica”) and well-loved jazz standards in their own style.
In March and May 2006 they performed sold out shows at The Pizza Express’ Music Room in Maidstone. They return there in July.
Also in July they will perform at the legendary Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in Soho, London.
Cloudfish are also featured on the forthcoming QUINTESSENZA album released June 2006 in Italy.
They are currently working on an album with a mixture of original Cloudfish material and the old standards with the CLOUDFISH twist.
