Candy Dulfer
Dutch funk jazz performer Candy Dulfer is the daughter of tenor saxman Hans Dulfer and a well-respected saxophonist in her own right. She broke onto the international scene after being featured by Prince in the video for his song Partyman, although she had already been playing and performing since she was very young.
She fronted her first band when she was 14 and was touring internationally as a leader and accompanist by the age 20. Her funk jazz alto tone has been heard alongside artists such as Jimmy Cliff, Tower of Power, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis and Aretha Franklin.
