Christine Tobin album launch

With universal acclaim from the jazz and wider music press, a BBC Jazz Award nomination for Best Vocalist, six hit albums of both covers and her own original material released on the esteemed Babel label (making it seven with this Ronnie Scott's date) and a reputation on the scene as one of the most original and exciting singers around, Christine Tobin has been a favourite fixture in UK jazz for several years. Since moving to London in the late 1980s from her home in Ireland, Tobin's strong yet sensitive vocals and creative technique have deservedly earned her legions of fans and the respect of her peers. This show will be the album launch for Tobin's latest release, Secret Life Of A Girl, as she demonstrates why her career has been such a success thus far and shows no signs of slowing down

Christine Tobin

“a 24 carat voice” The Guardian

Christine Tobin appears with her six piece band to launch her new CD "Secret Life of a Girl" released on Babel. A night of inimitable Tobin originals and ravishing covers of Leonard Cohen, Rufus Wainwright and others, her music has been described as authentic, streetwise, radical and romantic.

Band features Phil Robson (guitar), Liam Noble (piano), Kate Shortt (cello), Dave Whitford (double bass), Thebe Lipere (percussion) and Simon Lea (drums).
