Carleen Anderson Plus Alex Garnett's New York Connection
As one of the most respected soul singers in the world, we are delighted to be presenting Carleen at the club. Since re-locating here from the U.S, Carleen has worked with the likes of Paul Weller, Courtney Pine, Johnny Cash, The Brand New Heavies, Max Beesley, Massive Attack, Ocean Colour Scene, Bryan Ferry, The London Community Gospel Choir, Paul McCartney, Incognito, and Jools Holland, to name a few.
Her songs have been featured on films ("Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"), and with a mother who was the featured vocalist for James Brown in the 1960's and 70's and with the Godfather of Soul himself being her actual Godfather, Carleen's life has been drenched in music since she was born. With a voice soaked in gospel, blues, soul and funk, Carleen's stage shows are legendary - tonight will be very very special.
