This year Ronnie Scott's will be recognising International Women's Day with a special week of shows featuring some of the finest female band leaders from around the world. Artists lined up to perform include Norma Winstone, Nikki Iles and Annie Whitehead from the UK, Rachel Z and Bobbi Humphrey from the US, Emilia Martensson from Sweden and Norway’s Frøy Aagre.
International Women’s Day is held annually on March 8th to commemorate and celebrate women’s achievements throughout history. Events are held around the world focusing on themes such as innovation, the portrayal of women in the media, and the importance of education and career opportunities. As part of this global event, Ronnie Scott’s Club is delighted to present a selection of some of the best female jazz talent from around the world with a week of dedicated programming.
