Tony Bennett belongs to that elite group of entertainers which includes the likes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, who have endured over the decades due to the sheer joy, enthusiasm and talent that their art possesses. Inspirational performers all, it is Bennett in particular who has moved vocalist Matt Ford to present a tribute to the great man with his show, The Good Life.
Ford came to the attention of the public after appearing on ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ as Harry Connick Jr., and was subsequently snatched up by not one but two touring big bands, before being invited to take the position of Principal vocalist wit the Syd Lawrence Orchestra. He is no stranger to Ronnie Scott’s, first appearing in 2006 and receiving a nomination for UK Male Singer Of The Year at 2007’s inaugural Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Awards. The Good Life will feature many of Bennett’s greatest hits, including Have You Met Miss Jones?, Taking A Chance On Love, I Left My Heart In San Francisco and naturally The Good Life, all lovingly and faithfully interpreted by Ford.
