One of the icons of the acid jazz scene are celebrating 25 years in music. The albums have flowed over the years touching all areas of funk & soul with highlights including Starsky & Hutch, Mission Impossible EP, Love The Life & Blow Up. The new album combines familiar 60’s style filmic, soul & rare grooves with classical interpretations. This EP contains a vocal version of the album track ‘Night Walk’ called The Sun Shines Into My Life(feat James & JTQ vocalist Yvonne) with a nod to the Mizells/Earth Wind and Fire , Tick Tock and a brand new breakbeat groover Come To It

‘best Hammond player this side of the Atlantic’ Craig Charles ..

James Taylor..one of the all-time great Hammond players

Nicky Wire from the Manic Street Preachers, NME...Never less than an impressive demonstration of virtuosity Andrew Mueller, Uncut..James Taylor keeps it swinging, fun and unpretentious Andy Robson, Jazzwise...Taylor’s organ sound first sears the ears and then goes straight to the feet Garry Booth, BBC Music Magazine...Taylor is one of our finest jazz organists... A musician who has forged his own path... His playing is snappy and crisp... David Lands, Jazz Journal...A great musician and friend, James Taylor has always been true to the integrity of his sound and this 25th anniversary year marks him out in the tradition of great British musical innovation. Nitin Sawhney

Famed for their upbeat, energetic live shows, British jazz-funk stalwarts the James Taylor Quartet return to Ronnie Scott’s. Taylor’s driving Hammond organ has been leading the group for nearly twenty years, and the ‘JTQ’ show no signs of slowing down. Their relentlessly entertaining tunes take their inspiration from the rare-groove style funk and boogaloo funk of the sixties and seventies, and they are without a doubt one of the most important jazz-pop crossover bands in British musical history.
