The Show
This multi-‐talented duo, consisting of Grammy nominated Fernanda Porto and critically
acclaimed Christianne Neves performs regularly in Brazil and internationally. They play
an array of musical instruments while showcasing top hits by Fernanda Porto, such as,
‘Só tinha de ser com você’, ‘Tudo de bom’, ‘Sambassim’ and the operatic/lyrical ‘1999’.
Also featured are Fernanda’s unique electronic reinterpretations of Brazilian modern
classics, as well as music from her latest CD, ‘Auto-‐retrato’ (Self-‐Portrait) (EMI – 2009).
Fernanda sings, plays alto and soprano saxophone, electric and acoustic guitar,
keyboards and percussion. Christianne handles two keyboards and acoustic piano, as
well as cavaquinho, percussion and double-‐bass. In addition, there is a an electronic
programming. It is not surprising that the artists have been described in the press as
“The Duo that is worth 30” ( Journal Gazeta do Povo/Curitiba ), said reviewer Juliana
Gueraldi : “They may be a Duo, but together, Fernanda and Christianne can be
equivalent to a group of 30 instruments”.
The repertoire includes not only a selection of tracks from Fernanda’s CDs, but also
reinterpretations of gems of Brazilian Popular Music such as ‘Roda Viva’ by Chico
Buarque, with whom Fernanda duetted in her ‘Giramundo’ album (Trama -‐ 2004);
Desde que o Samba é samba, by Caetano Veloso, featured in Fernanda’s live DVD (EMI
– 2006); Corações a mil, by Gilberto Gil, featured in Fernanda Porto’s live DVD (EMI –
2006); Sampa, by Caetano Veloso and No more Blues (Chega de Saudade) by Tom
Jobim.
