Ronnie Scott's FUNK-AFFAIR presents some of the finest UK funk talent around. Each month a variety of musicians and vocalists, together with a dash of hot brass, mixed with some wicked funky grooves, make up FUNK-AFFAIR, a hugely enjoyable and musically infectious evening.
FUNK-AFFAIR is hosted by REAL vocalist Louise Pollock with Jamiroquai's Derrick McKenzie, The Cream Horns + a variety of guest vocalists and musicians and some very special guests from time to time that have included Omar and Noel McCoy. (Line-up is subject to change each month)
You will enjoy grooving to some of the finest musicians and vocalists that UK funk has to offer, playing many of the greatest rare groove & funk standards for you, including songs by Prince, Parliament, The Rebirth, Patrice Rushen, Don Blackman, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson, George Duke and many more!
Louise Pollock
..is fast becoming one of the most talented, exciting funk singers on the UK music scene due to her considerable talents not just as a singer but also songwriter.
Louise fronts highly rated UK funk band REAL with Winston Rollins.
She has regularly appeared at venues such as Ronnie Scott's, The Jazz Cafe, Pizza Express, Smollensky's, the 100 Club as well as many jazz festivals.
Her superb and expressive voice, versatility as a performer, combined with her vivacious personality, have made her a major new force on the UK soul & funk scene. Her first solo album “Louise Pollock”, REAL's album “Give Me A Reason”, and new album “Love Crazy”, all co-written by her, have all received enthusiastic reviews. Louise is also currently writing with Simply Red's Dave Clayton.
Her new band Funk Attack has some of the finest funk musicians backing her including Jamiroquai's Derrick McKenzie and former InCognito bassist Julian Crampton.
