Jason Rebello Quartet feat Pino Palladino & The Georgia Mancio Qnt: BRIT JAZZ FEST DOUBLE BILL! Saturday 7th August
In the 1980s when Brit Jazz Boomed, at just 21 Jason Rebello was spotted by Wayne Shorter who took on the job of producing his debut album. Following two of his own releases in 1999 Jason replaced Kenny Kirkland in Sting’s band and spent two years in a sell-out tour. He has been touring with Jeff Beck for the last three years as well as playing with Manu Katche, Madeline Peyroux, Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins. "In terms of sheer ability and potential, Jason is probably the finest young jazz musician this country has produced. His playing has great poise and maturity, which is unusual in somebody so young." Stuart Nicholson, author Jazz: The Modern Resurgence. We welcome him to Ronnie’s with his own quartet featuring Welsh bassist Pino Palladino and Stacey Brothers Paul and Jeremy for a night of funky fusion.
“Taste, originality and understated eloquence” (The Observer) vocalist Georgia Mancio has established herself as one of the UK’s most important new artists. Tonight, performing songs from her new album, Silhouette (which recently garnered a 4 star review in Jazzwise) Georgia demonstrates her remarkable vocal talent and lyrical ability.
