Top New Zealand saxophonist returns for 2 exclusive Ronnie Scott's dates with an all star band featuring New Zealand pianist Kevin Field and UK diva Vanessa Freeman

Nathan Haines - sax, flute, vocals, Kevin Field - piano, Andy Hammil - bass, Alain Koetsier - drums, Leon Stenning - guitar, Mike Patto - Rhodes/keyboards, Vanessa Freeman - vocals

With eight solo albums, four of those released internationally, and guests spots on hundreds of releases, Nathan Haines has been at the forefront of acoustic jazz, modern soul, and electronic music for over 20 years.

In his native New Zealand Nathan is a highly regarded musician, producer and performer with two gold albums, numerous awards, and a loyal and strong following after playing many major concerts and festivals over the last twenty years.

March 2012 saw the release of "The Poet's Embrace" (Warner Music) which debuted at number 15, the first top 20 instrumental album to do so in New Zealand in over twenty years.  This album heralds Nathan's return to his acoustic jazz roots with a quartet album of largely self-penned originals, recorded completely analog straight to vintage Ampex two-track tape with no mixing or overdubs - exactly how jazz records were made before the invention of multi-track recording. With producer Mike Patto at the helm, the album exudes warmth and authenticity, and was recorded over just two days at Auckland's York St studios in December 2011, with an array of vintage Neumann microphones, vintage Neve EMI desk, a Steinway-D 12 foot grand piano hired in especially for pianist Kevin Field, with performances cpatured as the band played them live in the same room.

His most internationall successful albums Squire for Hire and Soundtravels produced in London by Phil Asher have remained classics, and feature an incredible array of talent including US soul legend Marlena Shaw, UK diva Vanessa Freeman, US poet Rich Medina, Damon Albarn in his D2 guise singing a Steely Dan cover, plus the hit singles Earth is the Place (released on Francois Kervorkian's US label) and Squire for Hire featuring Marlena Shaw.

Nathan recorded Life Time with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in 2006 with arrangements by the grammy award winning Alan Broadbent (which also featured Nathan's jazz vocals described by UK Jazz FM host Helen Mayhew as "beautiful and a revelation"), as well as playing many major festivals and clubs throughout the world including a sell-out show at London's Ronnie Scotts in August 2011, the 2010 Java Jazz Festival, Tokyo Blue Note, the North Sea Jazz Festival, several sell-out gigs at London's Jazz Cafe, and the UK's Southport Weekender.

International collaborations and album sessions include Marlena Shaw, Billy Cobham, Reel People, Jamiroquai (featured playing saxophone and flute on Tallulah from the album Dynamite), Italian pianist Marco di Marco (My London Friends feat. Nathan Haines), Mark de Clive Lowe, 4-Hero, Da Lata, Masters at Work, Louie Vega, Dave Dobbyn, Sola Rosa and many more.

Under his own label Haven Music distributed by Warner Music NZ, Nathan has produced several albums under his own name, including 2010's Heaven and Earth and 2008's Right Now (released in the UK through Freestyle Records) and also for other artists, including jazz pianist and composer Kevin Field (Field of Vision released in February 2012), and Venezuelan born singer/songwriter Jennifer Zea.
