West End star Cassidy Janson to continue to host new Saturday brunch slot

Cassidy2.jpg

At the end of last year, Ronnie Scott’s launches a brand-new weekly show, All That Jazz! Saturday Cabaret Brunch at Ronnie’s, hosted by West End leading lady and 2020 Olivier award-winner, Cassidy Janson (BeautifulChess& Juliet).

Tickets include a delicious 2 course brunch as well as two cocktails from Ronnie’s renowned cocktail list (think Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and more!)

DOORS: 10.30am

Expect high energy show tunes, classic cabaret numbers, big belting ballads and jazz standards from the finest singers in town.  Despite everything happening in the world right now, the show really must go on!

Cassidy’s hosting duties follows the success of her sold out, headline show at the club this year, and last year’s release of her debut solo ‘Cassidy’. Each week, Cassidy invites a special West End star, most of whom have been unable to perform since March, to join her for a musical theatre celebration.

Band: JEFF LEACH/ADAM DENNIS keys; STEVE PEARCE bass; ADAM GOLDSMITH guitar; NEAL WILKINSON drums

Cedric Neal, a semi-finalist on 2019 series of “The Voice”, made his West End debut as Berry Gordy in the original London cast of "Motown - The Musical." Most recently Mr. Neal was featured as Earl of Northumberland in the new musical “Treason,” and as George Murderer in the UK virtual premier of the musical “A Killer Party.”

Mr. Neal was an original member of the Brierley Resident Acting Company at the Dallas Theater Center, where he starred in productions of "The Who's Tommy" (Tommy), "A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Puck), "A Christmas Carol" (Christmas Past), "Death of A Salesman" (Happy Loman), and as Billy Lyons in "Stagger Lee.”

Television Credits:  "Friday Night Lights" (NBC-Universal). 2012 & 2014 Tony Awards. NBC Today Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the 2015 Olivier Awards.  Film Credits: Lost In London (written, produced and starring Woody Harrelson).

Nestled in the heart of Soho since 1959, the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club has always stood shoulder to shoulder with its West End theatre-land neighbours. But it’s not just the location that binds the two. Musical theatre has long had a powerful affinity with jazz, from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess to John Kander’s Chicago, it has welcomed the swinging syncopation, the thrilling saxophones and hot brass that lend productions a certain razzle dazzle. Indeed, many of Ronnie’s regular performers play in the big shows around town.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic shows no signs of loosening its grip on the world of entertainment and most theatres remain closed, Ronnie Scott’s will honour this historical relationship between jazz and musical theatre.
