In 1959, saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened the door to a small basement club in London’s west end where local musicians could jam. Today, it is one of the world’s most famous jazz clubs attracting packed houses and the biggest names in jazz and popular music and Ronnie Scott’s welcoming, stylish setting is also home to London’s coolest late night hang.
Each night Monday to Saturday, after the main act, Ronnie Scott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talents take to the stage for a late night blowing session.
Born in Bari (Italy), began studying the double bass in 2005. After few months he discovered his passion for jazz music and, over the years, he attended many workshops with important jazz musicians such as Lee Konitz, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Kenny Barron, Dado Moroni, Eddie Gomez, Buster Williams, Steve Swallow. In 2010 he obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Jazz Music at the "Conservatiorio Niccolò Piccinni" in Bari. Soon after he began his professional career performing throughout Italy and playing with many of the italian's top jazz musicians. He has performed in Italy, UK and United States, sharing the stage with jazz masters such as Fabrizo Bosso, Giovanni Amato, George Garzone, Eddie Palermo, Gaetano Partipilo, Flavio Boltro, Nicola Angelucci, Renato D'Aiello, Alberto Parmegiani , Enzo Zirilli, Renato Chicco, Guido Di Leone, Roberto Gatto, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Marco Tamburini, Franco Cerri, just to name a few. In 2010 he joined the Eugenio Macchia Trio, performing in several festivals ("Italian Jazz Days" - NYC, "Generazione Jazz" and "Tuscia in Jazz 2011" - Roma). In 2012 he moved to London, where he's currently performing.
He has recorded several albums as a sideman, including: "Eugenio Macchia Trio meets George Garzone - Live" (Tuscia in Jazz Records), "Broadway" (Di Leone / Macchia / Di Lecce - Four Records), "In Between" (Eugenio Macchia Trio - Auand Records).
