Jivin' Miss Daisy, London's premier swing dance band, will be playing great songs from Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin as well as classics from Basie, Ellington and others. Bass player Simon Thorpe leads these top musicians in a guaranteed swinging Sunday session.

The Band

Simon Thorpe – bandleader & double bass
Thumps out a mean bass line but can't keep his head still. Jivin' Miss Daisy's bandleader and style guru, he has featured on several CDs with many top jazz acts including Stacey Kent, Bobby Wellins and Alan Barnes, and on TV's Big Breakfast. He has written and arranged music for many theatre productions and music libraries, and for BBC TV.
Liz Fletcher - Vocals
Liz started her career in theatre and dance but soon moved into singing and has become one of Britain's best known jazz vocalists, recently starring in a Nina Simone show at London's Cadogan Hall.
Malcolm Earle Smith – trombone
Top notch artiste of the slide plumbing & no mean crooner! Has recently played & sung around the world in Bryan Ferry's swing band and has recorded with James Langton's Solid Senders and with Digby Fairweather.
Simon Finch – trumpet
Flamboyant, hot-lips blues & swing master, Simon has worked with Tom Jones, Jools Holland and the Pop Idols big band. And wait til you see him shake his maracas!
Matt Dribble: saxophones
Matt Dibble is well-known for his multi-instrumental skills and since studying music at York University and Guildhall School of Music, has appeared in a wide variety of musical settings, as well as teaching performance at the Brit School.  He regularly plays with Gypsy-jazz band Swinggato, and has released three albums with Italian guitarist Fabio Zambelli.
Robert Fowler - saxes
Robert Fowler  A favourite of the British jazz scene, influenced by the greats of the classic jazz era like Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster. Robert has recorded and toured extensively with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Humphrey Lyttleton and the Alan Barnes Octet. He features on Bryan Ferry’s album As Time Goes By, and on many film sound tracks.
John Pearce - piano
John Pearce is a wonderful pianist whose jazz work has taken him all over the world. He has accompanied many of the great singers, including Anita O'Day, Selina Jones, Peggy Lee, Elaine Delmar, Annie Ross, Mark Murphy and a multitude of instrumentalists including Art Farmer, Woody Shaw, Kenny Davern, Warren Vache, Eddie Daniels, Ken Peplowski and Ronnie Scott.
Nigel Price – guitar
Nigel Price is a regular performer at London’s Ronnie Scott’s where he has made more than 500 appearances. Nigel has picked up a Parliamentary Jazz Award (Best Jazz Ensemble, 2010), and a British Jazz Award (Best Guitarist, 2016) along the way.
Matt Hom – drums
Matt Home is one of Britain’s finest jazz drummers, having recorded with a great many artists including Stacey Kent, Ray Gelato, Karen Sharp, Dave Cliff, and the Nigel Price Organ Trio.  He also appears regularly at Ronnie Scott’s as part of the house band and at the Late Show from 11pm weekdays.
