Late Late Show at Ronnie's

Every Friday and Saturday night, following the second show, Ronnie Scott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talents take to the stage for a late night blowing session. We are changing the vibe with music that includes and is influenced by jazz-funk, soul, R&B and hip hop.

A DJ will augment the evening starting the night at 10.30pm until close. This weekend we have UNCLE VIBES (Fri) and CHRIS PHILLIPS (Sat).

Most tickets for the Late Late Show will be available at the door if advance tickets have sold out.

Line up: ROD POOLEY Hammond organ; JULIAN NICHOLAS tenor sax; ANDY WILLIAMS guitar; DANIEL DOTOR bass; JESSICA DANN drums

The Drawtones return to Ronnie Scott’s after a series of sell out shows launching their brand-new album “Groovin’ Magic”. All of the album tracks will feature in tonight’s live show.

Emulating the great Hammond organ combos with such artists as Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, George Benson, Booker-T, Junior Walker, Grover Washington, The Crusaders, George Duke, Steely Dan, Ronnie Scott's Club favourites, ‘The Drawtones’, claim ownership by way of their masterful musicianship and proven jazz pedigree.

Julian Nicholas has a distinguished playing career with luminaries such as Jimmy Witherspoon, Harry ‘Sweets’ Edison, Carleen Anderson and ‘Loose Tubes’, and has supported Nina Simone twice! “His beautiful and creative playing makes Julian one of my favourite saxophonists” - Bobby Wellin.

Rod Pooley has steered the ship from behind the multi-textured Hammond organ on voyages with Jools Holland Band’s Derek Nash, and Martin Shaw, who says “awesome songs and infectious grooves”, and Dennis Rollins, who says “...always groovin’ hard!” of Rod and the band.

Andy Williams on guitar has worked with many jazz greats including Barney Kessel, Liane Carroll and was resident guitarist at the original PizzaExpress Soho for many years.

The awesome talents of Jess Dann on drums and Dan Dotor on bass complete a top-draw line-up!

The Drawtones are delighted to be featuring the YC61 stage keyboard. Supplied by Yamaha Europe.
