Friday 15th October - Saturday 16th October
Every Friday and Saturday night, following the second show, Ronnie Scott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talents take to the stage for a late night blowing session. We are changing the vibe with music that includes and is influenced by jazz-funk, soul, R&B and hip hop.
A DJ will augment the evening starting the night at 10.30pm until close. This weekend we have PERRY LOUIS.
Most tickets for the Late Late Show will be available at the door if advance tickets have sold out.
YOLANDA CHARLES Project PH BAND
Line up: YOLANDA CHARLES bass; KIM MURRAY guitar; LAURIE LOWE drums; CARL HUDSON keys; WILL FRY percussion
Project PH Band is a group of musicians brought together by former session bassist Yolanda Charles. Awarded an MBE for services to music in 2020, she has had a long career backing artists such as Hans Zimmer, Squeeze, Dave Stewart, Robbie Williams and Paul Weller. Taking a break from touring gave her the opportunity to create a band sound with a mix of Blues-Funk, RnB and Jazz-Fusion.
This line up brings instrumental versions of the Project PH sound to the stage. The arrangements feature the skills of dynamic and exciting young drummer Chris Morris. Australian Kim Murray offers a display of vibrant sound-crafting and compelling soloing as lead guitarist. They are joined by "synth scientist” and designer Carl Hudson on keyboards, with multi-percussionist Will Fry completing the line-up for an evening of tightly orchestrated grooves and improvised musical expression.
With no two shows ever the same, Yolanda Charles’ Project PH Band is an experience not quite like anything else to be currently found on the scene - with a mix of beautiful ballads, heavy blues funk arrangements and jazz influenced soulful compositions.
