Ronnie Scott’s and NYJO present a series of collaborations.
NYJO Presents has been specifically developed to showcase up and coming UK talent from both inside and outside of the charity. This is an opportunity to witness unique talent at the start of their careers, taking to the stage of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, and getting back to doing what they want to do most – play live music.
Line-up: ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR guitar, vocals, ukulele; MATT CARTER piano; SETH TACKABERRY bass; STEVE TAYLOR drums; ELIZA OAKES, LUCA MANNING backing vocals
Rosie will be playing a mixture of tunes from her first album "On My Mind" and new music from her forthcoming album "Bloom" planned for release early this summer. Rosie will be supported by a band of Royal Music Academy friends, expect a journey through folk, jazz and soul with guitar prowess and beautiful vocals.
About Rosie Frater-Taylor
With a clear sense of purpose, Rosie blurs the lines between jazz, folk, pop & soul. Think Joni Mitchell meets Pat Metheny, Lewis Taylor teams up with Emily King or a female version of John Mayer.
21-year-old UK singer, songwriter & guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor recently released two singles which gathered critical and public praise from across the board, with support from Complex Mag, BandCamp Weekly, Jazz FM, WorldWide FM, Soho Radio, Music Is My Sanctuary and BBC Introducing, as well as Guitar.com and global platform Pickup Music.
Rosie has been hailed as "One To Watch" (JazzWise Magazine), "genuinely exceptional"(Tom Robinson, 6 Music) and "one of the most amazing musicians to come out of the UK music scene in recent years" (Yolanda Brown).
Her debut album "On My Mind" (2018), received both critical and public acclaim, garnering praise from 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, Ian Shaw, Love Supreme Festival and songstress Becca Stevens, one of Rosie's main inspirations.
On her upcoming album 'Bloom' due for release next year, Rosie takes us on an eclectic journey while keeping her trademark luxurious vocals and unique guitaristic song structures.
NYJO exists to empower young jazz musicians and inspire music audiences across the UK, through engaging Learning & Participation projects and impactful live performances. Founded in 1965, NYJO has grown from a single jazz orchestra of young musicians, to a multi-faceted organisation that seeks to both improve jazz education nationally, and nurture the talent of young professionals at the start of their careers. NYJO are actively seeking to create a dialogue; between the established and the experimental; the past and the present; with captivating experiences that inspire and entertain.
