Live music returns with a passion to the intimate and plush surroundings of our upstairs bar for our Monday to Thursday programme. Here is a rare opportunity to experience some of the best singers and instrumentalists on the London scene: from popular New Orleans fused singer/pianists such as TJ Johnson on Monday, through ‘jazz ‘n samba’ sets from leading vocalists such as Georgia Mancino and Luna Cohen on Tuesdays, ebullient trumpeter Andy Davies with guest accompanists on Wednesdays plus mouthwatering guitar duos featuring the likes of Jim Mullen and Ant Law on Thursdays. Club DJ Mike Vitti and friends will be spinning soul, funk and jazz vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.
23 September - DOMINIC ASHWORTH guitar & COLIN OXLEY guitar
Dominic Ashworth studied guitar at the University of Toronto, Canada, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is an active freelance player who has worked with Carol Kidd, Jacqui Dankworth, Dave Cliff and Janette Mason. Dominic is also a composer, and has written and recorded many original works for radio and television and performs with original guitar trio Digital Moves. He has performed with groups such as Julian Stringle’s Pathfinder, the Mick Foster Group, Digby Fairweather’s Half Dozen and Michael Garrick’s Big Band.
Colin Oxley, widely considered a ‘first-call’ guitarist for swinging straight-ahead jazz ensembles, has, as a long-standing member of Stacey Kent's group, recorded several albums as well as touring extensively, He has also performed with American legends, Scott Hamilton, Harry Allen, Hod O'Brien, John Bunch, Houston Person, Warren Vache, Jeff Hamilton and Bob Dorough, as well as many of Britain's top players. In the year 2000, Colin was voted Jazz Musician of the Year by the Worshipful Company of Musicians.
30 September - CARL ORR guitar & NICOLAS MEIER guitar
Guitarist/composer Carl Orr has been a professional musician since 1980, and has performed and recorded with some of the finest musicians on the planet including Billy Cobham, George Duke, Eric Bibb, Ernie Watts, Randy Brecker, Bennie Maupin, Don Grusin, Lisa Moore and The Philharmonia Orchestra and has backed many pop artists including Roisin Murphy, Marcia Hines, Doug Parkinson, Lulu and Anastacia. He was guitarist on the 2018 UK tour of Sting’s “The Last Ship” and has played in the pit orchestras of “Thriller Live” and “Priscilla, Queen of The Desert” in London’s West End.
UK-based guitarist Nicolas Meier has carved a reputation out as one of the world's most original and uniquely talented guitarists. Drawing from a love of Turkish, Eastern & Middle Eastern music, Flamenco, Tango and more -- all mixed with jazz -- Meier's versatility and musical fluency extends well beyond that, even. (... so much so, that his considerable talents drew the attention of rock guitar legend, Jeff Beck, who made Nicolas a mainstay in The Jeff Beck Group -- carrying him on two world tours during the course of the last several years.)

A much in-demand musician, Ciyo Brown’s ongoing collaborations have included Roachford, Linda Lewis, Raghav, Shara Nelson, through progressive jazz with Soweto Kinch, to the ‘new psychedelia’ Brit-pop/folk influenced music of Bishi. His jazzy guitar can also be heard in the live work and recordings of reggae and lovers rock by artists such as JC Lodge, Sugar Minott, Bob Andy, Earl ‘Chinna' Smith, Barry Biggs and Carroll Thompson.
Giorgio Serci is an award winner guitarist, composer, arranger and lecturer. He has recorded, performed and supported Jools Holland, Shirley Bassey, Basia, David Garrett, Julian Lloyd Webber, Kenny Wheeler, Dr John, Martin Taylor, Sylvain Luc, Nigel Kennedy, Andy Sheppard, Paul Booth, Ryan Quigley, Bill Bruford, Paolo Fresu, Harvie S, CBS Orchestra, BBC concert Orchestra and the Frankfurt Philharmonie.
14 October – DAVE PEABODY guitar/vocals & ALAN GLEN harmonica
Dave Peabody has been voted ‘Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year’ three times by the British Blues Connection and Blues In Britain magazine. He has been a guitar accompanist for such U.S. blues artists as legendary Mississippi guitarist David ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards, Cincinatti pianist Big Joe Duskin, and Grammy award winning harmonica man Charlie Musselwhite. Dave has performed in over 20 different countries playing festivals and clubs, and has appeared on over 50 albums, making him one of the most experienced and seasoned British blues men performing today.
Alan Glen started playing harmonica after seeing Muddy Waters and the 'American Folk-Blues Festivals' which visited London in the late ‘60s. He joined Nine Below Zero (1991–1995) and The Yardbirds (1996–2003 and 2008–2009). Alan has recorded with Dr. Feelgood, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, ‘Slash’, Skunk Baxter, John Mayall, Peter Green, plus many more. Alan has played Montreux and Nice Jazz festivals plus such prestigious venues as Hollywood’s House of Blues, Las Vegas’s Hilton, and London’s Royal Albert Hall, Hammersmith Odeon, Wembley Arena… and Ronnie Scott’s.
21 October – JIM MULLEN guitar & TOM REMON guitar
Jim Mullen is a living legend whose instantly recognisable sound has graced countless recordings. His early gigging days were spent with the likes of Average White Band and Kokomo. The wider public know him from his 70s jazz-funk days with the Morrissey—Mullen Band and he has been first choice guitarist with visiting US stars such as Jimmy Smith, Mose Allison and Gene Harris. In 2014, he featured prominently on the Citrus Sun album, 'People of Tomorrow', produced by Incognito co-founder, Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick.
Tom Remon is a young upcoming guitarist who has graduated from both Middlesex University and the Tomorrow’s Warriors Development Program. He has performed with Denys Baptiste, Steve Williamson, Gary Crosby and many others playing as a sideman and leader in many groups. He cites Peter Bernstein, and Wes Montgomery as his heroes. Through the idea of a mutual friend, Both Tom and Jim put their heads together and put together a duo jazz guitar album in August during the Lockdown. The album is to be released on Lunaria Records in March 2021 playing Jazz standards and a few of Tom’s Originals.
28 October – PETE OXLEY guitar & NICOLAS MEIER guitar
Pete Oxley began his musical career in Paris in the mid ‘80s before relocating to the UK in 1997. Shortly afterwards he opened The Spin jazz club in Oxford which in 2012 won the Parliamentary jazz award as ‘The Best Jazz Venue In The UK’. Pete regularly performs with some of the world’s leading jazz artists including Chris Garrick, Gilad Atzmon, Tim Whitehead, Dave O’Higgins, John Etheridge and his own band Curious Paradise.
Nicolas Meier’s unique style that is a blend of Metheny-esque jazz and Turkish inspired world music, He has toured extensively around the world with his band, the Meier Group.
