Led by acclaimed tenor saxophonist Alexander Beets, the Sextet brings the spirit of Cannonball Adderley into the present with an electrifying mix of hard bop, soul jazz, and original compositions.
Deeply rooted in the swing tradition, the band combines old-school grooves with a modern edge, creating an unmistakable sound full of energy, interplay, and expressive storytelling. This edition of the sextet features rising star Femke Mooren on alto saxophone – one of the most promising young talents in the Dutch jazz scene. Also featured is top-tier trumpeter Ellister van der Molen, celebrated for her warm sound and dynamic playing, effortlessly blending tradition with contemporary flair.
