Andrew McCormack Trio plus special guest Denys Baptiste

The band will play music that relives the magic of Denys' monumental 'Let Freedom Ring' project and his album 'Be where you are,' which won two of the UK music industry's most prestigious awards in 1999 Mercury Music Prize Award for 'Album Of The Year' and the MOBO Award for 'Best Jazz Act'.

Expect inspirational, uplifting contemporary jazz, gospel and blues, combined with music from Andrew’s recent release Terra Firma, which has been hailed as an engaging set of originals and compelling takes on existing standard repertoire.

An icon of UK jazz, Denys Baptiste’s distinctive sound and powerful technique makes him a highly sought after soloist and has played alongside Jason Rebello, Nu Troop and Incognito.

Composer and pianist Andrew McCormack has managed to consistently demonstrate a compelling setting for his musical ideas, a platform for virtuosic improvisation and a constant revivifying and adaptive embodiment of the jazz tradition. As well as a leader of his own trio he is long-time pianist for Kyle Eastwood.
