Ed Richardson Big Band featuring special guest vocalist Kurt Elling

The band will be Performing arrangements from Kurt’s back catalogue from arrangers such as Bob Mintzer and Michael Abene.

Kurt Elling is renowned for his singular combination of robust swing and poetic insight and has secured his place among the world’s foremost jazz vocalists. Kurt Elling’s voice is instantly recognizable, embracing listeners with his warm, rich baritone and navigating the full span of his four-octave range as a virtuoso improvisor and a compelling storyteller. The Guardian (UK) has named Kurt Elling, “a kind of Sinatra with superpowers,” and, “one of jazz’s all-time great vocalists.” Elling has recorded and toured with Branford Marsalis, Danilo Perez, Stefon Harris, Fred Hersch, James Morrison, and Charlie Hunter. He has performed extensively with larger ensembles like The Bob Mintzer Big Band and The BBC Concert Symphony (led by Guy Barker).

Ed Richardson is one of the leading UK jazz drummers of his generation and can be seen often at Ronnie Scott's Club as an in-demand house drummer including the monthly Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and All-Stars. He has performed with artists spanning many different genres including Noel Gallagher, Jamie Cullum, Maria Schneider, Mike Stern, Albert Lee, Van Morrison and many more.
