Reminiscent of an early Tom Misch, edbl (Ed Black) makes feelgood music built on hip-hop tempos. It’s a sound he naturally found himself gravitating towards, naming J Dilla as one of his key sonic influences for the project.

Ed’s mellow beats have attracted over 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, amassing more than 65 million streams. The creation process, like Ed’s collaborations, is super organic too. Before a session, Ed and the artist will come up with starting points, then chat for an hour or two before they begin to create. “One of my favourite parts of the day is hearing other people's stories.
