Eddie Henderson Quintet

An extraordinary night with legendary American trumpet virtuoso, Eddie Henderson and special guest, dynamic saxophonist Soweto Kinch.

Eddie Henderson, is a living legend whose trumpet has graced the stages of jazz's most hallowed halls. With a career spanning decades, Henderson's contribution to the genre is immeasurable. It was Miles Davis who convinced Eddie to become a professional jazz musician and in 1968 Eddie joined the legendary Herbie Hancock Sextet (who also recorded as the Mwandishi Band). This highly experimental and successful band delved deeply into fusion and free jazz for three years.  Eddie broke new ground during the seventies, recording albums for Capricorn, Capitol and Blue Note, most notably ‘Comin’ Through’, ‘Realization’ and ‘Sunburst’.

Now in his 84th year but still at the vanguard of jazz, his last release ‘Witness to History’ was received with universal critical acclaim.

Soweto Kinch, a MOBO Award-winner and trailblazing force in the British jazz scene, is known for blending the rich traditions of jazz with the rhythmic pulse of contemporary urban sounds.

As these two maestros share the spotlight, expect an electrifying exchange of musical prowess, improvisation, and sheer brilliance. Don't miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary musical journey!
