Marcin Wasilewski Trio - En attendant - 30th Anniversary Tour 2024

The Marcin Wasilewski Trio stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Polish jazz on the global stage.

Established in 1990 by pianist Marcin Wasilewski and bassist Slawomir Kurkiewicz and then joined in 1994 by drummer Michal Miskiewicz. The Marcin Wasilewski Trio's unchanged line-up has achieved international recognition for their powerful and emotionally charged performance with depth and sheer musicality.

Celebrating their 30th anniversary tour, the trio has become synonymous with innovation and storytelling through their music. Their remarkable journey includes collaborations with jazz luminaries like Tomasz Stanko, Joe Lovano, Charles Lloyd as well as their own exceptional albums under ECM Records.

Marcin Wasilewski Trio has won the highest number of esteemed "Fryderyk Awards" in Polish Music.  He and his fellow musicians continue to carry the torch of the Polish jazz tradition from Krzysztof Komeda, through to Tomasz Stanko. The show will feature music from their current album ‘En attendant’ and previous works plus a preview of songs from a forthcoming ECM release.

The tour is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and co-organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.

Polish pianist Marcin Wasilewski’s trio is one of the best to appear on the European jazz scene in the past decade.
