Yolanda Charles Project pH Band — Acid Funk Album Launch

Project pH have had a monthly residency at the Late Late Show for the last two years.

The band now launch their debut album Acid Funk drawing comparison jazz-funk and fusion sounds of Parliament/Funkadelic, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and also the the 80s funk and soul that form the central inspiration of Yolanda’s compositional style, combining beautifully with the exceptional skills of guitarist Nick Linnik and highly respected composer and pianist Hamish Balfour.

Building upon Yolanda's commanding bass abilities, the group's sound is enhanced by the vocalists Haydn Bardoe and Imisi Peletu, with their live shows anchored to the solid foundation of Junior Kirton's drumming.

Yolanda Charles MBE is the internationally renowned bassist and songwriter who has worked with everyone from Hans Zimmer and Paul Weller to Robbie Williams and BB King.

Project pH projected and fuelled the flames of funk furiously and it's not surprising either considering the credentials of her crack ace band.
