Far Out Recordings presents Sunday Sessions, A new weekly party upstairs at the world famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Bringing something new to the heart of the city, the sessions will be a coming together of DJ’s, live acts, record labels and collectives, all native to our fair city. Harking back to an era where central London on a Sunday night was THE place and time to get immersed in the capital’s club culture, the sessions will provide the West End with a vital injection of genre-spanning music, from the free-thinking perspective you’d expect from a jazz focused outlook.
The first party plays host to the prince of South London soul Andrew Ashong. Andrew's name first rang out to many ears after the sleeper underground hit of Summer 2013 that was his collaboration with Detroit producer Theo Parrish, 'Flowers'. Since then, the Ghanaian singer-songwriter and producer has made a name for himself both behind a guitar and a microphone and a set of decks. It's the latter skill that he showcases at Far Out's first Sunday Session, as we invite the good friend of the label along, with his formidable record bag in tow for one of his typically unpredicatable DJ sets.
Support from Far Out Recordings' own Joe Davis + Josh Tautz.
