Since their debut for Jazzland Records in 2001, Beady Belle has been able to weave different styles of music like Norwegian folksongs, pop, jazz and electronic sounds in a unique way. For the latest work and the associated tour, Beady Belle has chosen a largely acoustic approach, 2018 shimmers in elegant tones of classic vocal jazz and '70s soul, enriched with anthemic folk sounds of their Norwegian homeland.
Their music is sensitive, intimate, yet cosmopolitan and revel. A variety of moods, colours and shades characterizes the songs from soulful blues to floating ballads and deeply felt gospel.
Her most recent CD is produced with great effort and interesting guest appearances like Joshua Redman, Bugge Wesseltoft, Mathias Eick, just to name a few. But as always Beate Lech herself is the true gem of the impressive voice: plaintive, seductive, velvety, warm, always tremendously powerful. With each new release her voice seems matured, stronger and more confident. Now shades, depths and colours touch like never before.
Beady Belle in 2018 is now the sole solo project of singer Beate Lech and today it sounds better than ever.
