Since leaving guildhall with a 1st class degree, Alex has been in many musical ensembles and has the pleasure of performing with talented professionals all over the world. Some of Alex’s highlights include playing for top companies and celebrities. He is a regular at the Ronnie Scott’s Late show and has performed in some impressive venues, including Birmingham Symphony Hall, La Grande Mamounia, The Vortex, Union Chapel, The Shard, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and many others and has recently been hosting his own night at the Spice of Life jazz venue in Soho. Since 2015 Alex has been lucky enough to perform with many great groups/ individuals including Dame Cleo Laine, Alec Dankworth, Jacqui Dankworth, Dave O'Higgins Liane Carroll, Huw Warren and Julien Siegel and Gareth Lockrane. After launching our spotlight series last September with a tribute to Johnny Griffin, Alex returns with a crack Bass and Drum team to explore the tradition of the chordless tenor trio setup. He will be playing a selection from the classic Sonny Rollins albums, Live at the Vanguard and Way Out West, Joe Henderson’s State of the Tenor and Lovano’s Trio Fascination amongst others ,spotlighting the interaction of this iconic jazz format.

Each night Monday to Saturday, after the main act, RonnieScott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talents take to the stage for a late night blowing session.

In 1959, saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened the door to a small basement club in London’s west end where local musicians could jam. Today, it is one of the world’s most famous jazz clubs attracting packed houses and the biggest names in jazz and popular music and Ronnie Scott’s welcoming, stylish setting is also home to London’s coolestlate night hang.
