7 Jan – JIM MULLEN guitar & TOM REMON guitar
Jim Mullen is a living legend whose instantly recognisable sound has graced countless recordings. His early gigging days were spent with the likes of Average White Band and Kokomo. The wider public know him from his 70s jazz-funk days with the Morrissey—Mullen Band and he has been first choice guitarist with visiting US stars such as Jimmy Smith, Mose Allison and Gene Harris. In 2014, he featured prominently on the Citrus Sun album, 'People of Tomorrow', produced by Incognito co-founder, Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick.
Tom Remon is a young upcoming guitarist who has graduated from both Middlesex University and the Tomorrow’s Warriors Development Program. He has performed with Denys Baptiste, Steve Williamson, Gary Crosby and many others playing as a sideman and leader in many groups. He cites Peter Bernstein, and Wes Montgomery as his heroes. Through the idea of a mutual friend, Both Tom and Jim put their heads together and put together a duo jazz guitar album in August during the Lockdown. The album is to be released on Lunaria Records in March 2021 playing Jazz standards and a few of Tom’s Originals.
14 Jan – HARRY DIPLOCK guitar & JEREMIE COULLON guitar
Harry Diplock is a young London-based guitarist, regularly playing rhythm and lead in a wide variety of Jazz, Swing and Gypsy Jazz groups. Fellow guitarist Jeremie Coulton along with Harry are founder members of The London Django Collective which was born out of the desire to create a forum for musicians influenced by the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt. The Collective remains in the spirit of Django, whilst pushing the genre of ‘gypsy jazz’ in London forward into a modern sphere.
21 Jan – HANNES RIEPLER guitar & JOHN PARRICELLI guitar
Hannes Riepler grew up in Austria, studied jazz guitar in Amsterdam and moved to London in 2006, where he dived into the vibrant scene as an energetic and inventive guitar player. Since hosting the renowned Vortex Downstairs Jazz Night jam session, he has become a mover and shaker of jazz in London himself. John Parricelli came to public prominence as a founder member of the anarchic 80s big band ‘Loose Tubes’ and is now highly regarded in contemporary jazz circles particularly in his collaborations with European heavyweights such as Lars Danielsson and drummer Magnus Ostrom. Carving a varied career, he has worked with Kenny Wheeler, Robbie Williams, Charlotte Church and David Gilmour
28 Jan - DAVE PEABODY guitar/vocals & TIM PENN piano/vocals
Dave Peabody is a renown singer-songwriter, blues and folk musician, record producer and photographer, active since the late 1960s, who has appeared on more than 60 albums. He is primarily known for his acoustic guitar playing, in both bottleneck and fingerpicking styles. Dave he has released nine solo albums, the most recent being Side by Slide in 2005. He has also performed and recorded with a wide variety of other blues musicians, notably Charlie Musselwhite and Big Joe Duskin. Peabody was voted "Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year" in 1995, 2001 and 2002 by ‘British Blues Connection’ and ‘Blues In Britain’ Magazine. The duo is completed by veteran pianist Tim Penn is one of the most popular musicians on the roots & blues scene in London, performing often with his New Orleans influenced band ‘Second Line’.
