LINE-UP: MYELE MANZANZA drums; ASHTON SELLARS guitars; ARON OTTIGNON keys; BENJAMIN MURALT bass; special guest ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR guitars + surprise guest

Tonight we present an all-star Kiwi band to celebrate the beautiful music they have created separately and, for a one-off evening, play it all together and deliver the best that New Zealand has to offer.  There's been a tremendous amount of great music coming out of NZ in the last few years and some key figures of the scene have now moved to Europe.

MYELE MANZANZA / DRUMS: World-renowned drummer/composer, & producer/beatmaker, Myele Manzanza has proved that he's an artist who continues to dissolve the borders between modern jazz and electronic beat production. Having released three solo albums he has also racked up tours and collaborations with Jordan Rakei, Theo Parrish, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Recloose and Amp Fiddler amongst others. Tapping into the vibrant scene of his adopted home, Myele recently released his new project on London-based label DeepMatter. Crisis & Opportunity Vol.1 - London features a top tier cast of young London based talent including Ashley Henry (piano) and James Copus (trumpet).

ASHTON SELLARS / GUITAR: Ashton Sellars is a London-based, New Zealand guitarist and producer. Ashton has already made waves with his trademark guitar playing blending jazz, hip-hop and classical music, building a very strong following on social media with clips showcasing his virtuoso guitar skills and undeniable talent for writing and production. As a side musician, Ashton has played alongside musicians such as Ambrose Akinmusire, China Moses, Judi Jackson and Deva Mahal to name a few. He’s recently released three successful singles and will soon drop his debut EP.

ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR: With a clear sense of purpose, Rosie blurs the lines between jazz, folk, pop & soul. Think Joni Mitchell meets Pat Metheny; Lewis Taylor teaming up with Emily King; or a female version of John Mayer. Rosie has been hailed as ‘One To Watch’ (JazzWise Magazine), ‘genuinely exceptional’ (Tom Robinson, 6 Music) and ‘one of the most amazing musicians to come out of the UK music scene in recent years’ (Yolanda Brown). On her upcoming album Bloom due for release this summer, Rosie takes us on an eclectic journey while keeping her trademark luxurious vocals and unique guitar-based song structures.

ARON OTTIGNON / KEYS: Berlin based former Blue Note pianist maps an electronic polyrhythmic course of jazz’s near future and recent past” Aron Ottignon writes hits, collaborates and listens. Mixing jazz, roots, Caribbean, Afro-beats and more, his world of music defies a Universal label. He is currently working on various collaborations, these include celebrated Senegalese percussionist Bakane Seck (featuring Grammy nominee Baaba Maal), and Puerto Rico / miami based ÌFÉ – with a single to be released soon. Also powerhouse fellow NZ dummer Myele Manzanza.

BENJAMIN MURALT / BASS: Benjamin Muralt, born 1993 in Bern, Switzerland, started playing the cello as a kid before he was drawn to the lower frequencies of the upright- and electric bass at the age of 12. After finishing his masters degree in music at 23 he moved to London to persue a career as a session musician and has managed to work with a range of artists in different genres.
