Tonight we present an all-star Kiwi band to celebrate the beautiful music they have created separately and, for a one-off evening, play it all together and deliver the best that New Zealand has to offer. There's been a tremendous amount of great music coming out of NZ in the last few years and some key figures of the scene have now moved to Europe.
MYELE MANZANZA / DRUMS : Born and raised in NZ on hip hop, jazz and dance music, drummer/composer Myele Manzanza is fast establishing himself as significant musical force on London’s dynamic scene of new wave jazz artists. Following on from his acclaimed 2019 jazz album ‘A Love Requited’ (via Award winning UK label, “First Word Records”), Myele is planning a new EP for early 2021.
ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR: 21-year-old UK singer, songwriter and guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor has been hailed as "One To Watch" (JazzWise Magazine), "genuinely exceptional" (Tom Robinson, 6 Music) and "one of The most amazing musicians to come out of the UK music scene in recent years." (Yolanda Brown) She just released her new single 'Better Days' to critical and public acclaim. New to come in the spring of 2021.
WALLACE GOLLAN : Wallace is a refreshing talent, whose music is a mosaic of jazz, blues, hip-hop and soul. Her trademark jazz-influenced, soulful vocal and magnetic presence are a marker of a dynamic artist who vibrantly creates music which showcases her absorbing vocals and clever songwriting. Her lyrics are often influenced by literature, evident through the intricate wordplay she weaves to create poignant stories.
LEWIS MOODY / KEYS : Melbourne born, London based keyboard player, composer and producer Lewis Moody has spent his career exploring the relationship between electronics, improvisation and sound design. Straddling the worlds of jazz and pop, Lewis has performed with the likes of Rita Ora, Joey Badass and Daniel Merriweather. As a core member of 30/70 side project Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, Lewis is gearing up for his first solo release late 2020 on UK based Jivehive records.
BENJAMIN MURALT / BASS : Benjamin Muralt, born 1993 in Bern, Switzerland, started playing the cello as a kid before he was drawn to the lower frequencies of the upright- and electric bass at the age of 12. After finishing his masters degree in music at 23 he moved to London to persue a career as a session musician and has managed to work with a range of artists in different genres.
