Live music returns with a passion to the intimate and plush surroundings of our upstairs bar for our Monday to Thursday programme. Here is a rare opportunity to experience some of the best singers and instrumentalists on the London scene:  from popular New Orleans fused singer/pianists such as TJ Johnson on Monday, through ‘jazz ‘n samba’ sets from leading vocalists such as Georgia Mancino and Luna Cohen on Tuesdays, ebullient trumpeter Andy Davies with guest accompanists on Wednesdays plus mouthwatering guitar duos featuring the likes of Jim Mullen and Ant Law on Thursdays. Club DJ Mike Vitti and friends will be spinning soul, funk and jazz vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.

20 May – HARRY DIPLOCK guitar & JEREMIE COULLON guitar

Harry Diplock is a young London-based guitarist, regularly playing rhythm and lead in a wide variety of Jazz, Swing and Gypsy Jazz groups. Fellow guitarist Jeremie along with Harry are founder members of The London Django Collective which was born out of the desire to create a forum for musicians influenced by the musical legacy of Django Reinhardt. The Collective remains in the spirit of Django, whilst pushing the genre of ‘gypsy jazz’ in London forward into a modern sphere.

27 May – DAVE PEABODY guitar/vocals & TIM PENN piano/vocals

Dave Peabody is a renown singer-songwriter, blues and folk musician, record producer and photographer, active since the late 1960s, who has appeared on more than 60 albums. He is primarily known for his acoustic guitar playing, in both bottleneck  and fingerpicking styles. Dave he has released nine solo albums, the most recent being Side by Slide in 2005. He has also performed and recorded with a wide variety of other blues musicians, notably Charlie Musselwhite and Big Joe Duskin. Peabody was voted "Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year" in 1995, 2001 and 2002 by ‘British Blues Connection’ and ‘Blues In Britain’ Magazine. The duo is completed by veteran pianist Tim Penn is one of the most popular musicians on the roots & blues scene in London, performing often with his New Orleans influenced band ‘Second Line’.

3 June – JIM MULLEN guitar & TOM REMON guitar

Jim Mullen is a living legend whose instantly recognisable sound has graced countless recordings. His early gigging days were spent with the likes of Average White Band and Kokomo. The wider public know him from his 70s jazz-funk days with the Morrissey—Mullen Band and he has been first choice guitarist with visiting US stars such as Jimmy Smith, Mose Allison and Gene Harris. In 2014, he featured prominently on the Citrus Sun album, 'People of Tomorrow', produced by Incognito co-founder, Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick.

Tom Remon is a young upcoming guitarist who has graduated from both Middlesex University and the Tomorrow’s Warriors Development Program.  He has performed with Denys Baptiste, Steve Williamson, Gary Crosby and many others playing as a sideman and leader in many groups. He cites Peter Bernstein, and Wes Montgomery as his heroes. Through the idea of a mutual friend, Both Tom and Jim put their heads together and put together a duo jazz guitar album in August during the Lockdown.  The album is to be released on Lunaria Records in March 2021 playing Jazz standards and a few of Tom’s Originals.

10 June – HANNES RIEPLER guitar & JOHN PARRICELLI guitar

Hannes Riepler grew up in Austria, studied jazz guitar in Amsterdam and moved to London in 2006, where he dived into the vibrant scene as an energetic and inventive guitar player. Since hosting the renowned Vortex Downstairs Jazz Night jam session, he has become a mover and shaker of jazz in London himself. John Parricelli came to public prominence as a founder member of the anarchic 80s big band ‘Loose Tubes’ and is now highly regarded in contemporary jazz circles particularly in his collaborations with European heavyweights such as Lars Danielsson and drummer Magnus Ostrom. Carving a varied career, he has worked with Kenny Wheeler, Robbie Williams, Charlotte Church and David Gilmour

17 June – NICK FITCH guitar & JAMIE McCREDIE guitar

From showing great promise during his early days with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Fitch has become a much sought-after, guitarist, educator, musical director and arranger. His wide skillset and experience in a variety of genres has led to working with a range of artists such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Professor Green, Mullally, Marisha Wallace and Lee Mead, plus in the jazz world he has worked with singers including Claire Martin, Nicole Henry, Tina May and instrumentalists Jim Mullen (Average White Band), Laurence Juber (James Bond, Paul McCartney & Wings) and Zane Carney (John Mayer)

A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, over the last few years Jamie McCredie has cemented his reputation as one of the UK's busiest and most versatile guitarists. Recently returned from European/USA tour with Roisin Murphy, Jamie can be heard on her recent Mercury Music Prize nominated album ‘Hairless Toys’, and her latest release ‘Take Her Up To Monto’.

24 June - CLEMENT REGERT guitar & MACIEK PYSZ guitar

Clement Regert is a French guitarist who moved from Paris to London in 2005. Since then, he has played in numerous venues and festivals in the UK such as the EFG London Jazz Festival, London Latin-Jazz Festival and Ronnie Scott's. "A great Guitarist!" Jazzwise; "Jubilant melodies, Thick pulsating guitar licks!" Young & Serious This a rare intimate outing for Regert since he normally gigs with his own popular jazz-funk sextet, 'Wild Card'. 

Originally from Poland but living in the UK since 2003, Maciek Pysz is a guitarist and composer known for his clear lyrical phrasing, his virtuosity, and his imaginative cinematic compositions. To date, he has released three albums as a leader, three as co-leader and has participated on six albums as a sideman.  He has worked with musicians such as Richard Galliano, Daniele di Bonaventura and  Tim Garland. Of his live performances, one critic referred to the "refreshingly clean, quicksilver beauty of Maciek Pysz's guitar."

A superb accompanist and soloist, Dave Warren is much in demand playing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s with his own quartet, and elsewhere with the bands of  Dick Pearce, Renato D’Aiello, Alison Neale, The London Jazz Orchestra, Matt Wates, Dave Cliff and Georgia Mancio.

15 July  – BILLY ADAMSON guitar & ALEX MUNK guitar

Billy Adamson has performed most styles of music, including pop, jazz, blues, soul and classical, plus multiple TV and radio appearances with the likes of Jess Glynne, All Saints, Ward Thomas and Izzy. He has also recorded on multiple Grammy nominated projects including ‘Cheers To The Fall’ by US artist Andra Day, the 'Rocket Man' film soundtrack, Elton John's Golden Globe winning song 'I’m Gonna Love You Again’ and MOBO nominated, Atlantic recording artist ‘Kwabs’. Alex Munk is an award winning guitarist, composer and bandleader for ‘Flying Machines’ and through his busy touring activities as a sideman, he has established himself as one of the country’s most in demand jazz guitarists.

22 July  – NICK COSTLEY WHITE guitar & HANNES RIEPLER guitar

29 July  – NIGEL PRICE guitar & GIORGIO SERCI guitar

Over a career spanning more than 25 years, award winning jazz guitarist Nigel Price has become widely acknowledged as one of the hardest working musicians in the business.

Musically, his blend of flowing bebop lines, deep blues sensibility and his mastery of chording continue to delight audiences and fellow musicians alike. His career highlights include a support show for Gladys Knight at The Royal Albert Hall and an appearance on Van Morrison’s 2016 album ‘Keep Me Singing’. Giorgio Serci is an award winner guitarist, composer, arranger and lecturer. He has recorded, performed and supported Jools Holland, Shirley Bassey, Basia, David Garrett, Julian Lloyd Webber, Kenny Wheeler, Dr John, Martin Taylor, Sylvain Luc, Nigel Kennedy, Andy Sheppard, Paul Booth, Ryan Quigley, Bill Bruford, Paolo Fresu, Harvie S, CBS Orchestra, BBC concert Orchestra and the Frankfurt Philharmonie.
