Live music returns with a passion to the intimate and plush surroundings of our upstairs bar for our Monday to Thursday programme. Here is a rare opportunity to experience some of the best singers and instrumentalists on the London scene:  from popular New Orleans fused singer/pianists such as TJ Johnson on Monday, through ‘jazz ‘n samba’ sets from leading vocalists such as Georgia Mancino and Luna Cohen on Tuesdays, ebullient trumpeter Andy Davies with guest accompanists on Wednesdays plus mouthwatering guitar duos featuring the likes of Jim Mullen and Ant Law on Thursdays. Club DJ Mike Vitti and friends will be spinning soul, funk and jazz vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.

Bluesey New Orleans infused gumbo to classic standards.

20 September - DOM PIPKIN vocal/piano

DOMPIPKIN.jpg

Described by ‘Blues in Britain magazine’ as one of Europe’s top exponents of New Orleans piano, Dom breathes new life into the classic funk sounds of The Meters, Dr John, Fats Domino and Professor Longhair, with these influences emerging in his own irresistible song-writing. His classical and sometimes rhapsodic influences are married with a tough approach to the blues and driving left hand rhythms.

27 September - ARTHUR LEA & GRAHAM HUGHES

Hammering honky-tonks since his hands could reach the keys, Arthur Lea sings eclectic rhythm ‘n blues with southern soul. Lewisham schooled, Royal Academy of Music trained, he has played everywhere from Ronnie Scott’s to the Olympic Stadium, working with everyone from Kate Tempest to Kylie Minogue. Low brass specialist, Graham Hughes of the ‘Brass Volcanoes’ and ‘The Sunshine Kings’ will blend his trombone sonorously with Lea’s ‘down-home’ piano style.

4 October - JOY ELLIS vocals/piano & FERG IRELAND bass

A superb singer/songwriter as well as being a skilled pianist and graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Joy Ellis mixes well-crafted originals with Latin, jazz and blues-based material from the likes of Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder. A mainstay of the popular East London jazz collective, Kansas Smitty’s, bassist Ferg Ireland is regarded highly on the contemporary and swing scene.

11 October – PADDY MILNER piano/vocals

Globe-trotting pianist with Sir Tom Jones and Jawbone, songwriter, studio musician & Music Guru educator, Paddy Milner is featured on the 'Rocketman' soundtrack and co-founder of the popular Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion. He has also accompanied Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Van Morrison, Eric Burdon and many others. Paddy is showcased here in a rare solo outing.

18 October – TJ JOHNSON piano/vocals

Possessing a grainy nuanced voice well suited to his renditions of jazz, blues, gospel and country plus a piano style influenced by the likes of Ray Charles, Dr John and Professor Longhair, singer/pianist TJ Johnson has been thrilling audiences since 1986.

25 October - ARTHUR LEA piano/vocals & ROB UPDEGRAFF guitar
