Live music returns with a passion to the intimate and plush surroundings of our upstairs bar for our Monday to Thursday programme. Here is a rare opportunity to experience some of the best singers and instrumentalists on the London scene:  from popular New Orleans fused singer/pianists such as TJ Johnson on Monday, through ‘jazz 'n' samba’ sets from leading vocalists such as Georgia Mancino and Luna Cohen on Tuesdays, ebullient trumpeter Andy Davies with guest accompanists on Wednesdays plus mouthwatering guitar duos featuring the likes of Jim Mullen and Ant Law on Thursdays. Club DJ Mike Vitti and friends will be spinning soul, funk and jazz vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.

Wednesday nights we present: Horn Culture, the best of instrumetal jazz led by long-time jazz jam leader Andy Davies and a special guest each week

22 September - ANDY DAVIES trumpet & ANDREW McCORMACK piano

In 2007, Andrew McCormack burst onto the scene with his debut album, ‘Telescope’, a masterful record converging McCormack’s inimitable free flowing melodic lines with his rhythmic impulse. He has since toured with his trio and with the saxophonist, Jason Yarde. The McCormack & Yarde Duo released a series of highly acclaimed albums including ‘MY Duo’ in 2010, and ‘Places And Other Spaces’ in 2011. McCormack has been a driving force within the groups of A- listers Kyle Eastwood, Eric Alexander, Denys Baptiste and Jean Toussaint.

29 September - ANDY DAVIES trumpet & MIKE GORMAN piano

Mike Gorman was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.  After completing a Music Degree at University College Salford, he gained experience working on the thriving Manchester music scene.  Mike moved to London in 1995, and fast became established as one of the UK’s leading jazz pianists and organists.

Mike is also in great demand as a session player touring and recording extensively with a wide variety of artists in the field of popular and commercial music, including Boy George, Mica Paris, Incognito, Us3, Van Morrison, Hamish Stuart, Marty Pellow, Marlena Shaw, Gwen McCrae, Andrea Bocelli and Tom Robinson.

6 October – ANDY DAVIES trumpet & NICK SHANKLAND piano

Often found in regularly performing duo with the exuberant singer Kitty LaRoar, Nick Shankland is no shrinking violet, possessing an incredible knowledge of jazz standards and show tunes, delivered with a firm, but winning touch on the ivories.

13 October – ANDY DAVIES trumpet & NATHAN BRITTON piano

Nathan Britton is the musical director & resident pianist at Piano Bar Soho, working with many world-class artists including Ronnie Scott’s favourite Andy Davies. He has performed on major radio and TV stations such as the BBC, London Live and JAZZ FM, as well as performing at the UK premiere of the Miles Davis film ‘Miles Ahead’ and as part of the London & Barcelona Jazz Festivals.

20 October - ANDY DAVIES trumpet & JAMES BROWNE piano

Originally from Leeds, pianist James Browne is a regular favourite at the Piano Bar Soho.

27 October – ANDY DAVIES trumpet & DESCHANEL GORDON piano

Pianist, Deschanel Gordon was inspired at the age of ten by a video of virtuoso pianist Oscar Peterson. This sparked his love of jazz and he switched from classical to jazz piano training.  Although he recently graduated from Trinity Laban, he is already making waves on the UK jazz scene winning BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020. One of the brightest prospects of his generation he has worked with the likes of Mark Kavuma, Cassie Kinoshi’s SEED Ensemble and US-born singer Judi Jackson.
