Toby Stewart’s Monsters On A Leash celebrates the music of Tower of Power and will take you on a musical journey with classics like: ‘What is Hip?’, ‘Soul Vaccination’, ‘Knock Yourself Out’, ‘Soul With A Capital S’ ‘A Little Knowledge’ and many more!

The San Francisco Bay Area in August 1968 was the birthplace of a unique blend of the sounds, Motown, Stax and James Brown…Urban Soul Music become known around as Tower of Power. The band's early hits include ‘You’re Still a Young Man’, ‘So Very Hard To Go’, ‘Soul Vaccination’ and ‘What is Hip?’. The Tower of Power Horns have featured on albums by Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, Aerosmith, Neil Diamond and 100’s more! From 1968 to this day they continue to record and tour taking their ‘Oakland Style Soul’ or ‘Urban Funk’ across the world playing over 200 dates a year! 

The Monsters have had the honour of performing/headlining at Swansea Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, Guildford Jazz Festival and have held London residencies at the legendary Half Moon Club and The Spice of Life.
