Live music returns with a passion to the intimate and plush surroundings of our upstairs bar for our Monday to Thursday programme. Here is a rare opportunity to experience some of the best singers and instrumentalists on the London scene:  from popular New Orleans fused singer/pianists such as TJ Johnson on Monday, through ‘jazz ‘n samba’ sets from leading vocalists such as Georgia Mancino and Luna Cohen on Tuesdays, ebullient trumpeter Andy Davies with guest accompanists on Wednesdays plus mouthwatering guitar duos featuring the likes of Jim Mullen and Ant Law on Thursdays. Club DJ Mike Vitti and friends will be spinning soul, funk and jazz vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.

30 November – IRENE SERRA vocals & LUCA BOSCAGIN guitar

Up and coming Italian vocalist Irene Serra will perform an ecletic mix of material from straight-ahead jazz standards and swinging blues to beautiful Brazilian songs. Her past performances have included an appearance at the Barbican with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra), Pizza Express Jazz Club, Union Chapel, King’s Place and SpiceJazz Soho.

7 December – LAUREN BUSH vocals & MARCO MARCONI piano

“Lauren Bush uses her voice as well as any master musician. It’s a perfection unforced, finely tuned with the rest of her band.” – Bill Quinn Sunday Morning Sunshine Early in her career, Lauren Bush was lucky enough to sing with the opening band for Maynard Ferguson. Lauren was a top 20 finalist in the Riga Jazz Stage Competition in Riga, Latvia in 2014 and was a Top 5 Finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2016.

Marco Marconi is an accomplished, classically-trained jazz pianist whose skill as a composer so naturally distinctive and seemingly effortless, he’s earned a reputation as a class act on the British festival circuit, the Fazioli Concert Hall in Venice and the buzzing London Jazz Club scene. “a remarkable musician possessed of rare talent. He has superb touch, with a highly refined sense of dynamics which he applies skilfully to suit the varying moods of the repertoire he is performing.” Alan Bates, Owner, Candid Records.

14 December – JENNY HOWE vocals & GEOFF EALES piano

Ex-NYJO vocalist and experienced session singer performs with vivacious stage personality collaborates with highly acclaimed pianist Geoff Eales who has worked with the likes of Salena Jones and the BBC Big Band. The show will focus on the rich legacy of the great Ella Fitzgerald Songbook and the legendary piano work of Oscar Peterson and other great jazz pianists.

21 December – FRANK COGNOSCENTI vocals & PEDRO LOPEZ piano

Frank Cognoscenti is a professional singer and songwriter now based in Surrey, England and self-confessed Sinatra enthusiast who has dedicated the last 15 years to solely performing the Sinatra repertoire for just about every conceivable purpose, from London to Singapore and most recently at Sinatra’s birthplace of Hoboken New Jersey. Sinatra’s much acclaimed collaboration with Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim in the late 1960s, is the focus for this show. A departure from Sinatra’s ballad and Swing repertoire, you will hear the genius of Jobim’s writing as well as well as the superb guitar accompaniment, as provided by Pedro Lopez.

28 December – LUNA COHEN vocals & SAM WATTS piano

Originally from Belo Horizonte in Brazil, Luna’s music represents and reflects a rich diversity of Brazilian culture, in which tropical colours, joy and passion combine to produce an unforgettable musical experience. She has captivated audiences with her sultry vocals and charismatic stage presence, each song telling a personal story, leaving the listener with a glimpse into her enchanting world.
