Every Friday and Saturday night, following the second show, Ronnie Scott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talents take to the stage for a late night blowing session. We are changing the vibe with music that includes and is influenced by jazz-funk, soul, R&B and hip hop.

A DJ will augment the evening starting the night at 10.30pm until close. DJ Dr Jim

TONIGHT: Ciyo Brown & Emrys Baird with Soul Immigrants ‘Funk & soul explosion fronted by two top guitarists’

Hailing from South London, The Soul Immigrants are fine purveyors of energetic Soul, Jazz Funk (& beyond) Masterminded by Nitin Sawhney and singer/guitarist Emrys Baird, who cut his teeth with the legendary FUNK AMBASSADORS ( backing the JB'S on their first ever UK tour in the late 80's hence the Fred Wesley connection who appears as a special guest on their last single.

Since they reformed in 2011 they have been quietly turning out vinyl only 45's on their own label Dry Rooti Records as well as having recorded for labels such as Saxology, Lateralize, Sticky records and Lipstick Cologne. They have also been on tour with the likes of US3,Steve Cropper and Osaka Monaurail. The shows are always a gritty, fat and greasy affair ! The band recently got back into swinging fashion with two fantastic sounding 45 rpm singles 'The Ghetto' (There's No Way Out) An Afro-Funk barnstormer and the P-funk inspired 'Yard Of Hard' (currently championed by Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles) which is the current single co-written with the famed American trombonist and former MD for James Brown, Fred Wesley, which sees the track being released on vinyl 45 on their own label Dry Rooti. Regulars at the club expect some tough grooves and exciting soloing!
