Club DJ Mike Vitti and friends will be spinning soul, funk and jazz vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.

Guitar solo or guitar duos … from straight ahead to fusion, folk, blues & gypsy jazz & occasionally singers:

4 August – DEIRDRE CARTWRIGHT guitar & CIYO BROWN guitar

Deirdre Cartwright is a London based guitarist and composer who first became well known in the 1980s for presenting the BBC TV’s ground breaking series 'Rockschool' and for playing in the Afro Latin Jazz group 'The Guest Stars'. She has recorded five albums with her own Deirdre Cartwright Group, played with legendary guitarist Tal Farlow, studied in America with Mick Goodrick, toured with the Jamaican composer Marjorie Whylie, and presented on BBC Radio 3. She founded Blow the Fuse with Alison Rayner in 1989. “If there is a more complete guitarist in contemporary music than Deirdre Cartwright - I'd like to know who it is” Dave Gelly - The Observer.

Jamaica-born guitarist, Ciyo Brown has performed with YolanDa Brown, Suggs, Caron Wheeler (Soul II Soul), Ann Nesby (Sounds of Blackness), Ruby Turner, Annie Lennox, Jason Rebello, Soca queen Alison Hinds, Jean Carne, Jazz Warriors, Tomorrow’s Warriors and  Talvin Singh, He has toured with Courtney Pine, Byron Wallen, Ronnie Laws, Billy Paul, Jean Toussaint, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Horace Andy, Cleveland Watkiss, Steel Pulse, Linda Lewis, Alex Webb’s Café Society Swing All Stars, Hill St Soul and includes Royalty in Lady Gabriella Windsor. He counts quality time spent with George Benson as being amongst his most inspiring experiences to date. Ciyo has more than six album releases to date, including his project merging jazz with reggae.

11 August  – BILLY ADAMSON guitar & TBC guitar

Billy Adamson has performed most styles of music, including pop, jazz, blues, soul and classical, plus multiple TV and radio appearances with the likes of Jess Glynne, All Saints, Ward Thomas and Izzy. He has also recorded on multiple Grammy nominated projects including ‘Cheers To The Fall’ by US artist Andra Day, the 'Rocket Man' film soundtrack, Elton John's Golden Globe winning song 'I’m Gonna Love You Again’ and MOBO nominated, Atlantic recording artist ‘Kwabs’.

18 August  – VALENTINA FIN vocals & LUCA ZENNARO guitar

London debut of Italian vocalist Valentina Fin who was nominated at this year’s ‘Riga Jazz Stage’ international contest. She presents her show ‘Going Inside’, a research project consisting of original compositions written by the artist with both Italian and English lyrics, inspired by poems from international literature.

In addition, there are some modern standards from the jazz tradition arranged for the duo. The leitmotiv of the project is an intimate and profound kind of artistic and musical research, a need that becomes urgent in the frenetic context in which we live. The result is a project that is almost chamber-based, but at the same time maintains the energy of a young international ensemble.

Similarly, guitarist Luca Zennaro, born in Venice, in 1997 was runner-up in the 2017 ‘Riga Jazz Stage’ international competition. His family was musical (both parents are pianists) and was playing by ear from an early age, his experimenting with improvisation drawing Luca naturally to jazz. Luca starts performing in jazz festivals at the age of sixteen, playing with top Italian musicians like Stefano Onorati and Stefano Paolini. His latest project is as co-founder of the bass-less trio ‘Hack Out!’ with which he toured Europe during 2021. The trio has also recorded with the Blue Note artist Jacky Terrasson.

25 August  – NICOLAS MEIER guitar & RANDOLPH MATTHEWS vocals - UK-based guitarist Nicolas Meier has carved a reputation out as one of the world's most original and uniquely talented guitarists. Drawing from a love of Turkish, Eastern & Middle Eastern music, Flamenco, Tango and more -- all mixed with jazz -- Meier's versatility and musical fluency extends well beyond that, even. (... so much so, that his considerable talents drew the attention of rock guitar legend, Jeff Beck, who made Nicolas a mainstay in The Jeff Beck Group -- carrying him on two world tours during the course of the last several years.)

Acclaimed jazz vocalist, songwriter and beatbox extraordinaire, Randolph Matthews performs solo, accompanied only by his looped voice. Where his roots in Jazz, blues and folk music explore the thin line between the divine and secular, his compositions are musically piercing and attuned to the stories of life. Notably performing with a fedora hat and an old 1960 suitcase, mixing African and electronica, plus delicate poetry with a pinch of English humour, he has invented his own electrifying musical style.
